Video Wins, Posting Overload, and Our Big Move

A social media reality check and a new chapter for our newsletter

Why Video Needs to Be Part of Your Marketing Now

I’ve been saying it for a while, and Google data confirms it!

Video isn’t just entertainment anymore; it’s how people search. Customers use YouTube, TikTok, and Meta Reels to compare, learn, and make their purchasing decisions. A blog post may explain what you do, but a quick video shows it. That builds trust more quickly, and when paired with written content, it increases your chances of being found online.

Here are a few highlights from Google’s latest data:

  • People are just as likely to search for information using video as they are using text.

  • Video creates trust faster than written words or photos.

  • Businesses that combine video with SEO-friendly text can reach a wider audience.

  • Consistent video presence keeps your brand visible where decisions happen.

Do You Really Need to Post 12 Times a Day on LinkedIn?

I came across an article that may lead some to think that posting up to 12 times a week on LinkedIn can generate more leads for them. Here’s the link, BUT read in full - it has some great insights backed by data!: Buffer’s article.

Now, I get why advice like this makes waves. It sounds like a shortcut to gaining more followers, leads, and everything else. But here’s the rub: posting more doesn’t automatically mean better results. The article elaborates on this later.

What really works? WIIFM content (“What’s in it for me?”). If your audience gets value from each post, gives answers to their questions, provides solutions to their problems, offers inspiration, or gives insights they can use, then yes, more can mean better.

But if you’re posting just to fill the quota?
Your audience tunes out.
The algorithm takes note.
You risk looking like noise instead of value.

Takeaway → Don’t stress over chasing volume. Focus on delivering something your audience cares about, then decide on the frequency that you can realistically sustain.
